Adv. Tamar Tavory, Special Counsel at Arnon, Tadmor-Levy, addresses the Israeli Ministry of Health&#8217;s current Draft Medical Information Portability Law in her guest contribution. This is contrasted with the main contents of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bundesgesundheitsministerium.de\/fileadmin\/Dateien\/3_Downloads\/D\/Digitalisierungsstrategie\/BMG_Broschuere_Digitalisierungsstrategie_bf.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Digitalisation Strategy for Health and Care<\/a> presented by the BMG at the beginning of March, with a focus on the topic of healthcare data use.<\/i><\/span><\/p><p class=\"p1\">&#8220;<span class=\"s1\">Germany&#8217;s healthcare system is decades behind in digitalization. We can no longer justify this.<\/span> That&#8217;s why we&#8217;re making a fresh start &#8211; opening up electronic patient records for everyone, making electronic prescriptions suitable for everyday use, and facilitating research based on health data. <span class=\"s1\">Modern medicine is based on digitalization and data<\/span>. Harnessing their benefits makes treatment better.&#8221;, said Federal Minister of Health Professor Karl Lauterbach at the Federal Press Conference as part of the presentation of the Digitalization Strategy for Health and Care in March 2023.<\/p><p class=\"p1\">In the following, the aspects of the digitalization strategy with regard to legislation on the use of healthcare data will be discussed.
