The German Israeli Health Forum for Artificial Intelligence (GIHF-AI), the health policy program of the European Leadership Network (ELNET), is hosting its third annual conference from June 24 to 25, 2024. The event will open on June 24 with a keynote speech by the former director of the Israeli Ministry of Health and current CEO of Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, Prof. Dr. Ronni Gamzu. Presentations by Israeli digital health start-ups with a focus on mental health will complete the program. Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Singing Shrinks, the world’s first choir consisting exclusively of psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists.
The Federal Minister of Health Prof. Dr. Karl Lauterbach MdB will give the first keynote speech on June 25, followed by Esti Shelly (Director of the Digital Health Department at the Israeli Ministry of Health). Other highlights include a “Hot Seat” in which Prof. Dr. Alena Buyx (member of the German Federal Government’s Expert Council on Health and Resilience and former Chair of the German Ethics Council) and Prof. Dr. Ronni Gamzu will answer questions on digitalization and ethics in healthcare. In addition, the results of the second GIHF-AI study on AI-based fields of application in medicine for citizen-centric solutions will be presented by Prof. Dr. Ran Balicer (CIO, Clalit Health Services), Prof. Dr. Sylvia Thun (Director Core-Unit eHealth and Interoperability, BIH of Charité) and Dr. Alexander Schachinger (CEO, EPatient Analytics) as well as a panel discussion on The EU AI Act and its practical implications with Prof. Dr. Karl Broich (CEO, BfArM), Nicole Formica-Schiller (CEO & Founder, Pamanicor Health), Beatrice Kluge (Head of International Partnerships, gematik), Dr. Limor Shmerling Magazanik (Tech Policy – Privacy, Data Governance & Digital Security, OECD), Dr. Neomi Siegal (Head of Medical Technologies Division, Maccabi Health Care Services).
The program is complemented by breakout sessions on Ethics and AI in Medicine, Digital Mental Health and Health and Data Literacy as well as a live session of the podcast MehrEinsatzWagen with an Israeli EntrepreNurse. The focus will be on the question of how digital technologies are transforming the healthcare system in Germany, with a particular focus on nursing.
