This report is a summary of the assessments discussed at the Digital Health Roundtable on Communication and Trust in AI held on October 19, 2022. A particular focus is on the doctor-patient relationship, the need for a clear definition of AI, and a trustworthy legal framework for the use of AI in healthcare. It also explains why data-based treatment leads to greater trust. The report complements the GIHF-AI Policy Briefing “Trustworthy use of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector” from October 14, 2022, and includes policy recommendations derived from it.
The report was handed over to the representatives of the health ministries of Germany and Israel.
